Job Description

Labcorp seeks a Research Assistant to support post-life study activities at its Greenfield, Indiana facility. The role involves performing necropsy and histology tasks on laboratory animals while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and animal welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform necropsy and histology tasks on laboratory animals following SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines
• Monitor animal health and welfare; maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance
• Execute tissue freezing techniques, trimming, bagging, and embedding procedures
• Participate in quality control activities and document corrections or errors
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and ensure client confidentiality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in animal science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, or biochemistry; or associate's degree in veterinary technician
• Experience with small and large animal dissections (6+ months preferred)
• Experience in animal handling (6+ months preferred)
• Comfort working in animal research facility environments
• Ability to perform or learn necropsy procedures on multiple species

Compensation: $22/hr
